Position Objectives
The Processing Assistant IV supports the Child Protective Services (CPS) Division by performing a wide range of administrative, technical, and clerical tasks. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of intake reports, case documentation, and inter-agency communications. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities

Generate all intake reports for CPS.

Assign case numbers and SIS numbers to new clients from intake reports.

Assign case numbers for new assistance requests.

Process and send CPS records to requesting counties.
-
Enter and maintain all required state forms in the system.

Contact the state office for deletion of forms (specifically Form 5104).

Set up new personnel in the state CPS network.
-
Run credit reports on foster children using Equifax.
-
Conduct DMV searches for pre-adoptive home assessments.
-
Provide backup assistance for DNA testing and complete all required DNA paperwork.

Scan and distribute all court documents to the GAL (Guardian ad Litem) office and appropriate attorneys.

Upload court documents into the Traverse system and court folders.

Maintain weekly records of all CPS cases and email reports to the supervisor and assigned workers.

Perform additional administrative or clerical duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma
​
Desirable Training and Experience
​

NC Notary Public certification is preferred or willingness to obtain.

Experience working with sensitive and confidential information.

Familiarity with state CPS systems and documentation procedures.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management systems.

Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in all duties.
