Part Time Telecommunicator I: $16.50 per hour
Hours: Full-time (Benefited) and Part Time (Non-Benefited)

Position Objectives
Position will be required to receive; prioritize and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls to
appropriate agencies and to provide emergency dispatch care by telephone. Applicant must be able to
obtain and disseminate accurate information in an efficient and professional manner to all agencies.
Must provide assistance to the public by providing a variety of information and direction; perform a
variety of Dispatch support duties and endorse a team environment. Applicant should be familiar with
FCC rules and regulations; possess excellent geographic knowledge of McDowell County. Applicant
should have experience and professional use of telephone and computerized two-way radio equipment.
Continuously analyze available information and monitor your channel along with assisting all other
communicators in the center.
Minimum Requirements

Familiarity with FCC rules and regulations

Geographic knowledge of McDowell County

Experience in professional telephone use and customer service

Experience in a communication center

NC Driver’s License
Desirable Training and Experience

NCOEMS EMD EFD/EPD NC Certification and/or National

NC Division of Criminal Information Certification

CPR Certification

Law Enforcement / DCI Experience

EMT-Basic or Medical Responder
