Position Objectives

Position will be required to receive and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls to appropriate agencies and to provide emergency medical care by telephone. Applicant should be familiar with FCC rules and regulations; possess excellent geographic knowledge of McDowell County. Applicant should have experience and professional use of telephone and computerized two way radio equipment.


Minimum Requirements

  • Familiarity with FCC rules and regulations

  • Geographic knowledge of McDowell County

  • Experienced in use of telephone in a professional manner

  • Experience in computerized two way radio equipment

  • Experience in a communication center

  • Pre-Employment Drug Screening

  • NC Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications and Certifications

  • Certification by Medical Priority’s

  • NCOEMS EMD Certification and/or National

  • NC Division of Criminal Information Certification

  • CPR Certification

  • EMT

  • Haz-Mat Awareness

  • ICS
